The start of the 20th Palermo–Montecarlo is on
Twenty years after its inaugural event in 2005, the Palermo–Montecarlo race is celebrating a special anniversary edition, confirming its status as a major fixture in the Mediterranean sailing calendar. Organised by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the race links the Gulf of Mondello in Palermo to the Principality of Monaco, covering 500 nautical miles and crossing one of the most strategic and diverse basins in the Mediterranean. The race began today at 12:00, with the iconic Italian Navy training ship Palinuro in attendance.
Dan Lenard achieves extraordinary endurance feat in ILCA
The Yacht Club de Monaco warmly congratulates its YCM Member, Dan Lenard, for his remarkable solo, non-assisted sailing achievement in a Laser/ILCA dinghy. Between 12 and 18 August 2025, Lenard sailed a total of 321.5 nautical miles over 147 hours and 41 minutes, starting and finishing at D-Marin Marina Dalmacija in Croatia. This performance surpasses the previous benchmark of 283.5 miles set in 2014, and was tracked in real time by the YB Iridium Satellite Tracker – followed live by more than 190,000 enthusiasts from 38 countries – as well as by Lenard’s personal Garmin GPS system.
Malizia-Seaexplorer on the attack for second leg
It was a great start for Boris Herrmann and crew on Malizia-Seaexplorer. After a tense, often challenging 1,060 nautical miles from Kiel (Germany) to Portsmouth (England), the crew snatched 2nd place in the first leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 after a thrilling 3 days 21 hours 54 minutes and 50 seconds of racing.
Founded by Yacht Club de Monaco vice-president Pierre Casiraghi, Team Malizia embodies the Club’s commitment to offshore racing as evidenced by Pierre Casiraghi’s recent victory in the Admiral’s Cup which he won alongside Will Harris and Cole Brauer, two pillars of the Malizia project.
Tuiga triumphs on Spanish waters
Yacht Club de Monaco’s flagship Tuiga (1909) won the 30th Illes Balears Clàssics Regatta in the Big Boat category. After winning two of the three hotly disputed races, the crew led by Daniel Pereira clinched the event one point ahead of The Lady Anne (1912).
Jérémy Moutout in the silver
The Scandinavian venue lived up to expectations as a tough venue for the ILCA Senior European Championship Trophy. A week that saw 12 races completed in changeable conditions and an XXL field of 153 contestants. It was in this demanding context that Jérémy Moutout, representing Yacht Club de Monaco, held his own finishing 91st in the silver group having pocketed three solid races in the Top 20.

Malizia-Seaexplorer at the gates of Europe
Seven IMOCAs are all set to take on The Ocean Race Europe, a 4,500 nautical mile loop across the Old Continent. Team Malizia, founded by Yacht Club de Monaco vice-president Pierre Casiraghi, will be on the start with Boris Herrmann at the helm of the team’s boat, Malizia-Seaexplorer. After two days of high-speed races on 8 and 9 August, the starting gun for the main event will be fired on 10 August. With Boris Herrmann’s experience and a competitive crew driving the boat, the goal is a podium finish.
YCM’s Vargen in the battle of Palma Bay
Palma Bay once again lived up to its promise. For the 43rd Copa del Ray MAPFRE, which this year hosted the ORC European Championship, conditions were worthy of this major Mediterranean event. More than 130 teams from 24 countries competed in the typical thermal breezes of Mallorca, ensuring an intense week of racing.
Oren Nataf (Rayon Vert) nails a superb 5th place in corrected time
In a particularly competitive Rolex Fastnet Race, Oren Nataf at the helm of his Rayon Vert did the Yacht Club de Monaco proud in finishing 5th in corrected time in the multihull category. A solid performance on a complex 695 nautical mile course between Cowes and Cherbourg via the legendary Fastnet Rock.
Admiral’s Cup 2025: historic victory for Yacht Club de Monaco A very successful campaign for Pierre Casiraghi and Peter Harrison
Yacht Club de Monaco has won the Admiral’s Cup 2025 after a nail-biting finale. Led by YCM vice-president Pierre Casiraghi at the helm of Jolt 6 and Peter Harrison on Jolt 3, the two Monegasque teams fought a collective strategic battle right down to the wire of the Rolex Fastnet Race. This third and final event (coefficient 3) on the Admiral’s Cup programme was the ultimate stage of a three-part format that mixed offshore and inshore races. For its first ever Admiral’s Cup, YCM won the team ranking ahead of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron. An historic feat that marks the Principality’s entry into an exclusive circle of winners of this legendary event.
