ILCA – France Internationals – La Rochelle 15-18 July 2021
Sunday 18th July 2021. Some 130 competitors were out on the water in La Rochelle for the France Internationals, a registered event in the French Championship for the ILCA 7 over 18s class (formerly Laser Standard).
Congratulations to Jérémy Moutout for an excellent 2nd place, which sees the Monaco Sport Academy member crowned France Vice-Champion 2021 after 11 races, in six of which he was in the top five.
Successor is assured
In another superb performance, Mathis Duplomb clinched 2nd in the ILCA 4 (formerly Laser 4.7) class, both these results confirming that the hard work put in by the competition team in the Sports Section these last few months has paid off. Note, too, a fine 16th place for Bodhi Van der Linden in the ILCA 6 (formerly Laser Radial), followed by Thomas Mangano in 17th (both Monaco Sport Academy members) and Leo Boisvert, 29th.
Heading to the Championship
Several YCM sailors have earned their ticket to line up on the start of the French Youth Championship that takes place in Martigues 21-27 August, including Bodhi Van der Linden and Thomas Mangano in the ILCA 6, Mathis Duplomb in ILCA 4 and Davide Marino and Mathieu Choquet in the ILCA 7.
YCM’s Nacra 15 teams will also be making the trip with two pairs, Frederiksen /François Lamy and the mixed duo Louise de Beaumont and Julian Choquenet representing the Club.
