Yacht Club de Monaco
As part of its commitment to protecting the environment, Yacht Club de Monaco has launched an innovative educational project in partnership with pupils from the Life and Earth Sciences classes at the François d’Assises Nicolas Barré school.
This Friday a group of pupils, selected for their awareness of environmental issues, were at the YCM to inaugurate the project run by Thierry Leret from the Sports Section.

It involves filling three oyster sacks with different types of waste, such as plastics and organic matter, and immersing them in the YCM Marina. The objective is to monitor how long it takes for the waste to break down to better understand the impact of pollution on our marine ecosystem.
The aim of the project is to raise young generations’ awareness of pollution and the importance of protecting our oceans and coasts. The pupils will return every month to monitor the changes and share their observations.
The initiative is one of many eco-awareness actions regularly organised by Yacht Club de Monaco to contribute to education, respect for the environment and marine biodiversity.
