Today, more than ever, every action counts when it comes to sustainability. As an organisation that has been committed to a rigorous environmental policy for over a decade, Yacht Club de Monaco continues to combine respect for the environment with societal engagement. In 2024, the Club took another notable step on this path.

Recycling at all levels

Thanks to investment by the maintenance department, YCM collected all used soaps from its overnight Cabins that are available to members when they call into Monaco. A total of 24kg of soap was collected, recycled, and made into 216 new soaps. This simple but productive initiative is part of a global approach to the recovery and reuse of waste.

An altruistic ambition

It goes beyond the eco-aspect as the recycled soaps have been passed on to 57 families who are in precarious situations and unable to afford to buy essential hygiene products. The initiative has also helped sustain five jobs for people with disabilities who work in the SAPOCYCLE association’s workshop that transforms used soap into new products.
With this programme, Yacht Club de Monaco is demonstrating again how protecting our planet and building a more inclusive world is a collective effort.
