Moutout stays in the game

The ILCA 6 & 7 World Championship concluded in Qingdao, China, in rather strange conditions. On the site where the 2008 Olympics were held, the 138 contestants in ILCA 7 had to contend with four days of flat calm, persistent fog and capricious currents before a thrilling finale on the last day in a steady wind. An edition to be forgotten by some and remembered by others for the intensity of the challenge. In this chaotic scenario, Jérémy Moutout, representing Yacht Club de Monaco, held his own to come 71st overall, a highlight being a well-deserved 8th place in one of the five races. A notable performance in a tight-packed highly competitive fleet comprising the cream of international talent, with miles of Olympics experience under their keels.
