A great performance from Anne Schouten

Last weekend, Anne Schouten, a member of the all-female Pink Wave group of sailors who race at the Yacht Club de Monaco was competing at the Helga Cup in Hamburg. It’s the biggest women’s sailing event in the world organised by Norddeutscher Regatta Verein (NRV), a famous club that the IMOCA Malizia-Seaexplorer skipper, Boris Herrmann, also belongs. Racing with the Pink Phönixen crew, they finished a very respectable 15th overall out of 63 contestants in what was a particularly strong fleet.

 

It’s the fourth time Anne’s participated in the Helga Cup and was a landmark for her in terms of results. The crew worked extremely well together and were on a par with their more experienced opponents, including those from the SailGP circuit. Once again conditions were ideal on the Hamburg race area, further contributing to the success of this unique high-level event in women’s sailing.
