The 27th Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez concluded after a full-on week of racing, with crews experiencing hesitant breezes, choppy waters and tight starts. Yacht Club de Monaco members more than held their own, often in the vanguard and always in with a chance.

Maxi boats on the attack

Among those in the giant Maxi classes battles lived up to the occasion. In Maxi GP, Giovanni Lombardi Stronati and his crew on Django 7X won after a close contest against Vesper, winning three races with cut-throat consistency and composure in the wind transitions. Peter Harrison, at the helm of Jolt pulled off a solid 4th place in the same category after a near-faultless week.
In Maxi 1, Karel Komarek and V left no-one in any doubt, dominating this group to win four of the six races thanks to clean starts, superb trimming and speed. Behind them, Joost Schuijff steered Leopard 3 into 3rd place in a group where every second counted.

Modern boats: precision and consistency

In IRC 2, Adrien Follin took Give Me Five to the top of the leaderboard, with five impeccably managed races, two wins and expert positioning in light airs making the difference. In IRC 3, Martin Baum (Elan) finished the week 8th in a dense, competitive fleet thanks to their mastery of the coastal races.

Classic boats: where elegance rhymes with fighting spirit

Sur le plan d’eau des classiques, le spectacle était ailleurs, mais l’intensité la même. En Big Boat, Mark Dixon (Elena of London) a signé une belle deuxième place, derrière Cambria. Une semaine menée tambour battant, où la goélette a retrouvé sa superbe. Argynne III s’impose en Classique Marconi A après une régate exemplaire, tandis que Angelo Mazzarella (Carron II) prend la 6e place Epoque Marconi A. En Grand Tradition, Carlo Falcone et Mariella accrochent la 6e place, toujours fidèles à leur style sobre et efficace. Enfin, Kostia Belkin hisse le plan Fife Viola sur le podium en Époque Aurique A, à la 3e place, confirmant une saison remarquable pour le voilier centenaire.
