The curtain fell on the 2025 IMA Mediterranean Maxi Inshore Challenge at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the last event in a busy and competitive season. This year again the Maxi yacht elite met at five major regattas: PalmaVela in Mallorca, the IMA Maxi European Championship inshore series at Sorrento, the coastal Loro Piana Giraglia in Saint-Tropez, the mandatory higher-coefficient Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo, and finally Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez.
To count in the overall ranking each boat has to compete in at least three regattas, including the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. Only members of the International Maxi Association are eligible for the trophy presented at the end of the season in Saint-Tropez.

YCM’s Karel Komarek on the podium

Yacht Club de Monaco members once again did the Club proud on this circuit. Just behind Galateia led by David Leuschen and Chris Flowers, Karel Komarek on V pulled off a remarkable 2nd place overall after a season of tight duels between these two, particularly at the Italian events where tactics and crew cohesion made the difference. Also from YCM, Peter Harrison was 7th on Jolt, just ahead of Giovanni Lombardi Stronati in 8th on Django 7X. Joost Schuijff at the helm of Leopard 3 was 18th while Benoît de Froidmont on Wallyño came in 30th.
