The Geneva Grand Prix ended the 2025 season battle for the TF35 Trophy in contrasting conditions. After two days dominated by strong winds, the final day was contested in a gentle 5-8 knot breeze demanding tactical precision and faultless manoeuvres by the crews.
Helmed by Jérôme Clerc, Esteban Garcia’s Realteam Spirit representing Yacht Club de Monaco proved remarkably consistent throughout the 14 races. With Sébastien Col, Gurvan Bontemps, Eliot Merceron and Benjamin Amiot, the team won by just two points ahead of their rivals. A superb result that crowns a season when Realteam, having returned to the circuit after a pause at the start of the year, have immediately regained their previous form.
Ylliam 17 skippered by Julien Firmenich came 2nd after a good day, while the battle for third place raged in their wake. Sails of Change 10, helmed by Duncan Späth, struggled in the lighter winds, recording two 5th places before salvaging their place on the podium in 3rd after a strong last race. Always a threat, Zen Too won race 12 in the final metres against Realteam Spirit. As for Bertrand Demole’s Ylliam XII – Comptoir Immobilier, the team made a remarkable comeback by finishing the event with two race wins.
In the overall ranking of the TF35 Trophy 2025, victory went to Yann Guichard Sails of Change 8 who had secured the Crans Grand Prix title ten days earlier. The Monaco team on Realteam Spirit was not in contention for the annual prize but ended the season in style by winning this regatta in Geneva which they controlled from start to finish.
