Sunday 23 November 2025. Sports performance at the YCM is not just about regattas and racing but is based on a culture of striving to succeed and a strong Club spirit. Whatever the season, Yacht Club de Monaco brings members together to take part in challenges that reflect this attitude, like the No Finish Line, and the same goes for the younger generation.

In this article: – YCM’s role in sports performance

– Mobilising as a Club for the No Finish Line

– Stand out results by young sailors running under the Club’s banner

– Desire to pass on this club spirit to new generations

This year at the 26th No Finish Line, the Club and its teams racked up 1,533km, almost doubling its previous record.

Solidarity and an exceptional turnout

Held under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II, the No Finish Line is one of the most popular events in the Principality. The concept is simple: for every kilometre covered 1 euro goes to the Children & Future association to support projects dedicated to sick or disadvantaged children.

This year again, the No Finish Line beat many records:

  • 14,440 registered participants
  • 375,245km covered
  • 375,245 euros raised

At Club level, enthusiasm was high with many turning out to take part regularly throughout the nine days, mainly adult members but also this year a particularly highly motivated new generation

YCM’s young sailors achieve impressive sports performance

Among the 14,440 participants, several were young YCM members running under the YCM banner who stood out for their consistency, determination and team spirit like Leo and Mona Benchekroun. The brother and sister, who are members of the YCM’s Junior Optimist Team, excelled themselves with Leo running a total of 206.9km (POM Category) and Mona 187.6km (BEF Category). As a result, they were top of the table for the YCM team, first in their respective categories and overall winners among all the children taking part in the No Finish Line, girls and boys combined.

Come rain or shine they were out there, running tirelessly round the track even when the temperature fell below 5 degrees centigrade. Their mental strength, endurance and consistency embody to the nth degree values dear to the YCM. Meanwhile, the Contaldo family also stood out for their commitment under the Club banner as the kilometres covered show: Alice Contaldo: 52.53km (MIF Category), Sergio Contaldo: 23.58km (M45-54M Category), Maria Contaldo: 13.94km (M45-54F Category) and Lucia Contaldo: 3.22km (BEF Category).

YCM sports performance aiming to encourage, inspire and pass on

Putting the spotlight on these young athletes is to recognise their commitment but also generate momentum for the future. Their success shows that a taste for good results takes root early. Whether at regattas or ashore, the Club spirit motivating members and their families embodies a shared vision that combines sport, solidarity and team spirit.
