Smeralda 888 – Barcelona Cup – Barcelona

The penultimate meeting of the season saw the Smeralda 888 fleet competing in Barcelona for the second year in a row. It was an opportunity for these gentlemen racers to see how they stand up against the competition before the grand finale in Monaco 11-13 October.
After winning three out of the six races, Charles de Bourbon des Deux Siciles on his Vamos mi Amor quickly made his mark, the class president showing just why he is a serious contender. He won the event in great style, stealing first place from under the noses of the Italians on Giada, 2nd, followed by circuit regular Timofey Sukhotin in 3rd on Beda. Paolo Rotelli’s Black Star and Martin Nweeia’s Paka’a finished in 6th and 7th position.
