Three years after hosting the last Championnats de France Jeunes, the Étang de Berre welcomed the Championnat de France Espoirs fleets. For this one, 495 selected sailors descended on Martigues for a championship that saw a strong Mistral, hot sun and unpredictable thermals. For the first few days it was a reminder of why this venue is one of the most demanding, both for those racing and the organisers.

A grand finale for the 20th Palermo-Montecarlo

The 20th anniversary of the Palermo-Montecarlo concluded as always at the Yacht Club de Monaco in the heart of the Principality with a packed and festive awards ceremony. Organised by Circolo della Vela Sicilia, in collaboration with Yacht Club de Monaco and Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, this offshore race links the Gulf of Mondello (Palermo) to the Principality of Monaco on a 500 nautical mile course. “I never imagined that we would enjoy 20 editions and with numbers always growing. This race continues to surprise sailors every year; it has become an unmissable event,” says YCM General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri.

Hard-fought comeback: Team Malizia holds firm on longest leg of The Ocean Race Europe

After 1,400 nautical miles of racing from Portsmouth to Cartagena in Spain, Malizia-Seaexplorer crossed the finish of Leg 2 on Saturday 23 August at 13:44 (11:44 UTC) in 5th place after 5 days 19 hours 44 minutes and 11 seconds at sea. The result secures the IMOCA a 3rd place in the provisional ranking with three legs to go on the programme.

Alegre in contact in Palma bay

The TP52 fleet were racing again 18-23 August in the Mediterranean after two regattas in the Atlantic. And while the American Magic Quantum Racing team confirmed their domination with a third consecutive win on this circuit, Yacht Club de Monaco’s Andrés Soriano at the helm of Alegre made a big impression in Puerto Portals.

2nd place for Tuiga

The Trofeo Cormorán, organised by the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença, concluded this weekend with a record 40 boats competing. Yacht Club de Monaco’s flagship Tuiga finished 2nd in the overall ranking.

Black Jack 100 breaks own record at the 20th Palermo–Montecarlo

The Maxi Black Jack 100, owned and helmed by Yacht Club de Monaco member Remon Vos, claimed line honours at the 20th Palermo-Montecarlo. Skippered by Tristan Le Brun, also a YCM member, the boat was first to cross the finish in front of Port Hercule at 02:52 this morning after 38 hours 53 minutes 16 seconds of racing, smashing the boat’s own record set last year (44h 34min 24s). It means that on Sunday evening at prize-giving the team will lift the Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita Trophy for the second year in a row. “This win is incredibly special. After our record-breaking performance in 2024, returning to defend our title in the anniversary edition makes this achievement even more memorable,”, said Remon Vos.

Team Malizia passes Porto and heads for Spain

After 2 days 19 hours 30 minutes 20 seconds of racing, Malizia-Seaexplorer crossed the Port flyby in 4th place. The race had started in Portsmouth on a demanding route through the English Channel, Bay of Biscay and onto the Portuguese coast. Three hours after arriving, Will Harris and his crew were already on their way to Cartagena, Spain, where the second half of Leg 2 of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 will be decided.

The start of the 20th Palermo–Montecarlo is on

Twenty years after its inaugural event in 2005, the Palermo–Montecarlo race is celebrating a special anniversary edition, confirming its status as a major fixture in the Mediterranean sailing calendar. Organised by the Circolo della Vela Sicilia in collaboration with the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, the race links the Gulf of Mondello in Palermo to the Principality of Monaco, covering 500 nautical miles and crossing one of the most strategic and diverse basins in the Mediterranean. The race began today at 12:00, with the iconic Italian Navy training ship Palinuro in attendance.

Dan Lenard achieves extraordinary endurance feat in ILCA

The Yacht Club de Monaco warmly congratulates its YCM Member, Dan Lenard, for his remarkable solo, non-assisted sailing achievement in a Laser/ILCA dinghy. Between 12 and 18 August 2025, Lenard sailed a total of 321.5 nautical miles over 147 hours and 41 minutes, starting and finishing at D-Marin Marina Dalmacija in Croatia. This performance surpasses the previous benchmark of 283.5 miles set in 2014, and was tracked in real time by the YB Iridium Satellite Tracker – followed live by more than 190,000 enthusiasts from 38 countries – as well as by Lenard’s personal Garmin GPS system.

Malizia-Seaexplorer on the attack for second leg

It was a great start for Boris Herrmann and crew on Malizia-Seaexplorer. After a tense, often challenging 1,060 nautical miles from Kiel (Germany) to Portsmouth (England), the crew snatched 2nd place in the first leg of The Ocean Race Europe 2025 after a thrilling 3 days 21 hours 54 minutes and 50 seconds of racing.

Founded by Yacht Club de Monaco vice-president Pierre Casiraghi, Team Malizia embodies the Club’s commitment to offshore racing as evidenced by Pierre Casiraghi’s recent victory in the Admiral’s Cup which he won alongside Will Harris and Cole Brauer, two pillars of the Malizia project.
