Viola on fire!
The 21st edition of this classic event was held in the Gulf of Naples. Organised by Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, in collaboration with Circolo Nautico Punta Imperatore, the regatta is part of the CIM (Comité International de Méditerranée) Circuit. Between inshore races, an elegance parade and entertainment ashore, it was much enjoyed by all the crews including those on Kostia Belkin’s Viola from Yacht Club de Monaco who won hands down in the Vintage category. A superb result that reflects the team spirit aboard this lovely 1908 yacht which is on the maritime heritage list.

Double celebration for YCM
Ten years ago, the whole Yacht Club de Monaco family gathered to attend the inauguration of the new building designed by Lord Foster. This year the traditional Summer Cocktail held on Monday 17th June was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary and 40 years of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco’s presidency, surrounded by HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover, YCM Vice-Presidents Andrea and Pierre Casiraghi, Alexandra of Hanover and the Management Committee. Between surprise videos, personal messages, live music and a gourmet voyage on the quays by 17 renowned chefs, presenting specialities of their regions associated with a wine estate, everyone enjoyed the togetherness of the occasion.
Two seconds for YCM
More than 40 yachts from nine nations made the trip to Porto Santo Stefano for the 23rd Argentario Sailing Week. Once again Yacht Club de Monaco did very well thanks to our talented members, with Massimiliano Feruzzi’s Il Moro di Venezia claiming a superb 2nd in the Classic IOR, after coming in the top three in three of the four races. Carlo Falcone’s Mariella in the Big Boat category was also very consistent helping her to clinch 2nd place.
Unstoppable
Regattas and podium finishes follow one after the other for Yacht Club de Monaco’s ILCA sailors in the Sports Section. Held in Aix les Bains, the Mediterranean Championship finale ended after five races in three categories. In ILCA 6, Louise Debaumont came 10th and pocketed a winning trophy in the girls. Gabriel Superina was 12th. In ILCA 7, Mathis Duplomb won this category ahead of Marco Superina. Leo Boisvert ended 4th overall. Finally in ILCA 4, Ennio Rostagni finished 17th.
YCM flag tops the bill
The 71st Loro Piana Giraglia has just finished, with more than 130 boats competing in this event that combines inshore races and an offshore race.
