Yacht Club de Monaco Optimist results: double podium for Monaco at Les Sablettes
A highlight of this stage of the League Championship held in Les Sablettes was the Optimist results of young athletes from Yacht Club de Monaco who really made a mark. The Club’s young sailors proved once and for all that they have what it takes. In a 30-strong fleet of contestants, with variable winds of 6 to 12 knots and after four races, the hard work put in by YCM saw two of its sailors at the top of the leaderboard.

A regatta that embraces everyone
The count-down has begun to the 3rd Navicap Challenge-Trophée Elena Sivoldaeva that takes place 28-30 November, organised by Yacht Club de Monaco. Enthusiasm for this inclusive event continues to grow with over a hundred participants expected this year. From seasoned sailors to amateurs, able-bodied to those with a disability, all will be competing on equal terms on the same courses. Held each year, ahead of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3rd December, the event is part of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ approach. “Sailing is all about people. On a boat everyone finds their place and their role in making it work,” says YCM General Secretary Bernard d’Alessandri. The event has already proven its value in allowing mixed crews of two to participate in a regatta where performance is down to teamwork rather than individual differences.

The 2025 season concluded with a result that reflects the Yacht Club de Monaco’s ambition to support its members to the top and assert its presence on international circuits. Led by Team Nika, the Yacht Club de Monaco’s recent victory in the RC44 Championship is part of this drive.
YCM’s J/70 class representatives at the top
The first event of the Regional Shared Fleet Championship set the pace for the season on 22-23 November at the Stade Nautique Florence Arthaud in Marseille. A demanding format of nine races over two days, with wind speeds ranging from 5 to 25 knots, were ideal conditions to test the prowess of those competing. YCM’s J/70 class representatives lived up to expectations confirming the strength of the Monaco fleet.
G-Spot wins at home
And they’re off! Yacht Club de Monaco launched the 2025-2026 season of the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series this weekend. The venue lived up to expectations for Act 1 with three days of back-to-back races, in changeable conditions that tested the tactical prowess and endurance of the 23 teams. A total of eight races were validated by the Race Committee.

YCM sailors in contention in an edition without a final
The 2025 Italian Olympic Class Championship concluded in Palermo on a windless day, forcing the Race Committee to cancel the last races. It was a frustrating end for the sailors as in some classes the gaps were minimal after three days of racing in a light unstable wind.
YCM’s Sport Section on the up in La Rochelle
From 29 October to 1st November, La Rochelle Nautique hosted one of the major dinghy events on the calendar, the ILCA Autumn National and French ILCA Championships. Over 300 international contestants, including a delegation from Yacht Club de Monaco, descended on the French city. It was another opportunity for the team of young Monegasque sailors to compete in a large highly competitive fleet at a major event.
