It was all systems go again for the 50 contestants at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. In chop whipped up by an easterly breeze the organisers went into overtime on the second day of competition, postponing the long-awaited start of the endurance trials.

Records tumble!

D-Day for the 46 teams entered in the three Classes at the 11th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco. The first on-water confrontation in the bay of Monaco was dedicated to them with the traditional parade then the first sea trials followed by qualifying laps for the Championship that will take place on the last day. There’s no room for error in any of the categories: the Energy Class and its 18 protagonists, the Solar Class (13 boats) and Open Sea Class (15 boats).
Kick-off tomorrow for 11th Monaco Energy Boat Challenge

Over 450 engineering students representing 40 universities and 25 nations have made the trip to the Principality to present their prototypes and meet major players in the yachting industry at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. Since 2014 this event, which is part of the collective Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting approach, combines alternative propulsion and hull design to drive the future.
SEA Index® deployed in 15 Côte d’Azur harbours and marinas

On the 40th anniversary of his presidency at the helm of Yacht Club de Monaco, HSH Prince Albert II hailed the success of the SEA Index®, a benchmark to assess CO2 emissions of yachts over 25 metres. Launched in 2020 by YCM as part of the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ approach, the SEA Index® that was recently awarded the CAPENERGIES label, is a reliable non-biased tool for owners and stakeholders concerned about the carbon footprint of pleasure boats.
10 years mobilising yachting stakeholders in the Principality

Over 200 people attended the Cluster Yachting Monaco’s 10th anniversary celebration, which was attended by HSH Prince Albert II, President of the Yacht Club de Monaco, who congratulated members for the work they do to promote the Monegasque yachting sector. “This initiative has become a reality. You are ambassadors of the yachting industry in the Principality. We want it to be as sustainable as possible over time but to also have an environmental purpose,” said the Sovereign.
Projections and innovations for a growing industry

The Cluster Yachting Monaco convened a hundred yachting professionals and a fleet of yachts moored in the YCM Marina for its first Open Day 2024. The meeting was a chance to take stock of the sector as it stands and make forecasts for 2030. “The industry must set itself apart in the best possible way. Our Cluster is always cited as a reference and is one of the best in the world. We must keep up the momentum,” began Bernard d’Alessandri, Cluster Yachting Monaco President and General Secretary of the Yacht Club de Monaco.

The 7th Monaco Ocean Week, orchestrated by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in partnership with the Monaco Government, the Monaco Oceanographic Institute and Monaco Scientific Centre is in full swing. It is a major international event at which Yacht Club de Monaco is responsible for the yachting element, introducing for the first time this year a Day of Exploration in collaboration with The Explorers Club of New York. For this special occasion, a delegation of around a hundred Americans have made the trip to the Principality to participate in a busy programme of meetings and discussions.
