Clubswan 28 Invitational Sardinia Challenge
The Swan Sardinia Challenge concluded in Villasimius, Sardinia. This international event hosted the final leg of the Nations League 2024 of the ClubSwan Racing One Design circuit that showcased the brand new ClubSwan 28. Ideal weather conditions saw eight races completed, with a 10-14 knot easterly on the last day.
Yacht Club de Monaco was well represented in this stage by the crew on Oocz, that included Federico Michetti, clinching 5th place in the overall ranking.
Unveiled at YCM
YCM was given a preview in June 2024 of the ClubSwan28, the latest addition to the Nautor Swan fleet. It combines simplicity and pure one design speed without compromising the quest for performance. With a hull length of 8.50m, this one design can take four to five crew. Both the hull and deck are built using specially reinforced fibreglass with a carbon mast and no backstay. The pared-down design and large cockpit are aimed at facilitating manoeuvres. The sail plan comprises a mainsail, jib, gennaker and spinnaker, both secured to a long retractable bowsprit of more than 2m.
The Swan Sardinia Challenge may have ended but the enthusiasm is there for the 2025 season which looks set to be an exciting one for all sailing enthusiasts.
