When consistency pays off against an international fleet of the best

In Vilamoura the 8th Portugal Grand Prix attracted a large fleet in the ILCA 7 category, including the top international sailors. With 90 contestants, a light but stable wind throughout the regatta and negligible gaps, consistency was key to staying in the game.

In such technically demanding conditions, consistency does indeed pay as proven by Jérémy Moutout’s result.

Consistency pays in a tough international fleet

Jérémy Moutout finished 28th  coming 14th, 9th, 31st, 7th and 23rd in the races. Mixed results but marked by several very strong races when he was in direct contact with the best. On an unstable course, quality of sailing was crucial, requiring precise positioning on the starts, anticipating the shifts and good management of the transitions. The 9th and 7th finishes show why this Monegasque sailor deserves his place in this international fleet.

The progress curve is consistent, with results rooted in hard work. In a tough ILCA 7 category consistency is crucial. The next event is the 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca at the end of March. A major event and opportunity to transform this consistency into a stand-out result.
