Designed by German Frers, the Smeralda 888 is a fast, lively 8.88-metre boat with 5 crew that is a pleasure to sail, combining elegant lines with high performance on the water. She behaves in a balanced way in breezy conditions and is fast in light airs. Under the impetus of Adalberto Miani and Charles de Bourbon des Deux Siciles, President of the class, this one-design series has been structured around a genuine Mediterranean circuit, with the distinctive feature of offering international events in such prestigious locations as Saint-Tropez, Porto Cervo, Calvi, Alassio, Cannes and Monaco. The Smeralda 888 International Championship, created in 2007, concludes each year with a final event in the Principality.
