After three days and nine races, the fourth stage of the Cape 31 Mediterranean Circuit held at Imperia lived up to expectations. In fickle wind on the Friday and stronger breezes on the Sunday, nothing could be taken for granted by the 15-strong fleet from 13 nations.
In this context, YCM’s Adrien Follin (Give Me Five) held his nerve to clinch two wins and three third places to make it fifth in the final overall ranking. Not enough to maintain his lead in the Championship, but enough to stay in contention at the final stage of the season.
At stake is the 2025 championship title that is still within reach, especially as the discard rule is now in force, meaning each team can erase their worst result of the season. A strategic wild card that could reshuffle those at the top.
Give Me Five, previously leader in the general and Corinthian/1-Pro rankings, have seen their lead shrink under pressure from ShotgunAdrenaline and Stig. As the final stage is in Palma, doubling as the Cape 31 European Championship, the final sprint to the finish could be a battle.
Imperia has not turned the tide but has narrowed the gaps. And in a class where the slightest mistake can lose a team five places, Follin is still very much in the game.
