ILCA – Europa Cup – Imperia
The Europa Cup in Imperia concluded after four days of intense racing in contrasting weather conditions. With five races contested, it was an ideal opportunity for sailors to fine tune their settings against a strong field.
In the ILCA 7 category, YCM’s Jérémy Moutout produced a fine performance to finish 9th out of 76. Consistent throughout the event, he took full advantage of the conditions that changed from virtually no wind to a brisk 20 knots on the final day. Ideal preparation for his next big international challenge in Palma as he feels he now has all the tools to be competitive.
In ILCA 6, Louise Debeaumont came 48th overall, finishing 25th in the U19 category. For this young sailor it was a formative experience in a demanding environment as she racked up invaluable time on the water.
This Europa Cup proved an ideal training ground for YCM’s sailors as they build momentum for the major events that lie ahead. All made significant progress and identified areas for improvement.
