Dragon Winter Series: YCM members were on the podium at Leg 3 of the Dragon Winter Series held in Sanremo 9 to 11 January 2026. After a day of no action due to lack of wind, five races were completed in excellent conditions to ensure a spectacular start to 2026 for the Dragon class. After an intense weekend, the Monegasque crews excelled to stand on the top two steps of the podium.

Dragon Winter Series: YCM members on the podium of Leg 3

The winner was Transbunker, helmed by Eugenio Braslavets, sailing with Andrea and Vittorio Zaoli both Yacht Club de Monaco members. A remarkably consistent performance (1-1-1-1) by the crew earned them a commanding victory in this third leg.

Another YCM member Giuseppe Zaoli, at the helm of Tergeste, clinched 2nd place sailing with Paolo Bozzano and Flavio Favini. This Monegasque one-two finish is testimony to the quality of preparation and constancy of teams competing under the Yacht Club de Monaco flag.

A promising start to the Dragon class season

With eight boats vying for supremacy, Leg 3 of the Dragon Winter Series proves the intensity of this winter circuit and the teams’ commitment to what is turning into a highly-competitive season. Having three Yacht Club de Monaco members in the top two teams of the overall rankings shows how active the Dragon class is at the Club, with a strong presence at all the major Mediterranean regattas. The highly anticipated final Leg of this winter series in Sanremo is 30 January to 1st February when the Monegasque crews will be back out on the water aiming to keep up the momentum.
