Hyères bay hosted the 5th Porquerolle’s Race, an event that has become a regular fixture on the Mediterranean calendar. Despite very light-wind conditions throughout the four days, crews managed with all the finesse and patience required to take full advantage of every race.
The flourishing Cape 31 class proved very competitive with 16 teams from ten nations represented. Among them two Yacht Club de Monaco members did very well with Adrien Follin at the helm of Give Me Five31 finishing 5th and Loïc Pompée Terrible Joy in 7th, a consistent performance given the fickle wind.
YCM was also at the heart of the IRC-Group 1 with Nicolas Bouchet and Axelle Foucaud aboard Raving Swan. Consistency ensured an overall 4th place with the duo finishing all races in the top five.
With over 60 boats in competition and a friendly atmosphere this edition confirmed the status of the Porquerolle’s Race as a major spring event in the Mediterranean.
