The Olympic sailing venue in Marseille was buzzing as it hosted the first Final of the Championnat Régional de Flotte Partagée. The first edition lived up to expectations thanks to two days of full-on racing, a strong field and ideal conditions, with 16 hotly contested races completed in brisk 12 to 18 knot breezes.
And the winner was – a crew from Yacht Club de Monaco, led by YCM member Pierrik Devic with François Brennac, Stéphane Christidis and Thomas Deplanque, who with skill and consistency produced a perfectly executed regatta.
They are now ahead of talented youngsters already prominent on the international scene, with in 2nd place the crew led by Matisse Pacaud, Youth World Champion in 470 and the helmsman selected for the Youth America’s Cup 2024. In 3rd place another top level team with Ange Delerce and his team, the recently crowned Match Racing Youth World Champions.
