Marco Viti was on the podium at the 68th International Star Regatta in Nice, with the Yacht Club de Monaco member putting in a fine performance at this major winter meeting. After eight races completed between 27 and 30 December in an experienced tightly-packed fleet, he came 3rd in the overall ranking, confirming his status in the Star class.

The 2025 edition attracted 17 crews from five countries with eight races completed in ideal sailing conditions. In the mix of top-level amateurs and Olympic professionals, Marco Viti sailed a solid, well thought through regatta that kept him at the front of the fleet to stand on the third step of the podium. It was just reward for his masterclass in sailing throughout the competition, where consistency and understanding the conditions played a decisive role.
Launched in 1955, a year after the Star fleet came into being, the International Star Regatta, also known as the Nice Christmas Regatta, has established itself over the decades as a benchmark event. Traditionally held between Christmas and New Year, it attracts crews from all continents and is one of the must-do regattas for this class.
Marco Viti’s podium finish goes into the event’s history books and highlights once again the Yacht Club de Monaco’s commitment to entering major international competitions.
