RC44 – 44Cup Cascais | 11-15 May 2022
Sunday 15th May 2022. Without a doubt Nico Poons (Charisma) set the bar high right from the start of this meeting. The YCM member did not hang around, clocking up three wins in a row in the first three races. After four days of racing, Charisma had notched up a significant lead of 12 points. “It was fantastic. I’m amazed, especially as we had not negotiated Lanzarote that well. Of course, the helmsman has to be concentrating all the time, but in the end it’s all in the hands of the crew,” explains Nico Poons. Note, too, the superb 3rd place for Team Nika led by Vladimir Prosikhin, also from the YCM, like Torbjorn Tornqvist (Artemis Racing) ranked 6th. Racing continues for the RC44s at the next stage, this time in Sweden at the 44Cup Marstrand (29th July to 3rd July).
