Star Sailors League
Friday 24th June 2022. An inshore circuit created by sailors for sailors, the Star Sailors League gets support from big names in sailing like Loïck Peyron and Denis Conner. Celebrating stars of yesteryear and today while spotlighting the up and coming is what the Star Sailors League is all about. The idea is to get the public interested while perpetuating the tradition of exciting top-level competition.
Top-flight circuit
SSL is modelled on the principles of the ATP in tennis of an annual schedule of four Grand Slams and Finals based on the Masters, at the end of which the Champion of Champions is crowned. The end game is to put in place a fair competition where only the talent of the sailors makes the difference. Raced on RC44s supplied by the organisers, competitors are pitting themselves against the biggest names in sailing on equal terms.
Monaco sailors signed up
A regular on the podiums in different classes including J/70, Yacht Club de Monaco’s Loïc Pompée recently embarked on the SSL circuit which he intends to break through. Watch this space!
