Rolex Swan Cup – Porto Cervo – 11-18 September 2022
Sunday 18th September 2022. Out in force, Yacht Club de Monaco’s race members flew the flag high at the 21st Rolex Swan Cup which ended in style yesterday. With a 10-knot south-easterly strengthening to 20 knots, the fleets had a chance to really shine for the final day. The Monaco sailors did not disappoint, particularly in Division 1 where Vincenzo Onorato on his Mascalzone Latino XXXIII claimed victory in Class B-Classic S&S., and Valter Pizzoli’s Les Amis came 3rd in the Swan Class A1 Mini Maxi.
In Division 2, podium regulars lived up to their reputation, a prime example being Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio (G-Spot) who took 1st place after eight races in the Swan36 group. The same desire for results was there in the bigger boats as evidenced by Leonardo Ferragamo (Cuordileone) 5th in the Swan50 while Graeme Peterson (Moonlight) pulled off 13th in the same category.
