Ski Yachting – Gstaad | 3-4 March 2023
As part of its reciprocal relationship with the Gstaad Yacht Club, a team from Yacht Club de Monaco comprising Paolo and Luca Vola, Jelena Krasnockuka and Bruno Delahaye took part in the 23rd GYC Ski-Yachting.
It is the most traditional event in the GYC’s calendar attracting 20 to 25 teams representing 15 yacht clubs from all over the world.
Past winners include the Royal Yacht Squadron, Royal Thames Yacht Club, the Société Nautique de Genève and Yacht Club de Monaco. An invitation-only event it involves a giant slalom on Friday evening followed by a match race with remote-controlled carbon fibre boats in a half-Olympic-size pool at Gstaad, powered by state of the art machines. A key objective of the club is to promote sailing to the younger generation hence why they arrange an identical event for under 16s.
