Putting techniques learned into practice -Optimist – Martigues 13-14 May
Sunday 14th May. A two day trip and two days of peak performance for some of our young sailors in the Optimist category from the Yacht Club de Monaco’s Sports Section. During four races held in varying conditions, the Minime (13-15-year-old) rookies showed what they are capable of achieving finishing in the top 20 in almost all races.
Roman Lampert came 42nd out of 75 ahead of Frederik Holst 46th and Oceane Schroeder 47th. In the youngest category (Benjamin) in the three races Pietro Carlevaris came 20th out of 46 and first poussin, Louis Pompee 30th and 2nd poussin, Louis Faivre 34th and 3rd poussin.
Victor Holst, Anastasia Verpeka Dolling and Mona Benchekroun competing in their first ever regatta came 40th, 41st and 43rd. It was a great opportunity for them to cut their racing teeth and find out how they measure up with the competition ahead of upcoming meetings.
