Vela Clásica Menorca – XIX Copa del Rey de Barcos de Época – Minorca

Saturday 2nd September 2023. Around 50 boats from 13 countries competed in the 19th Copa del Rey Repsol de Barcos de Epoca, a Mediterranean classic boat meeting. For the second year, the event is part of the Mediterranean Champions Cup along with Les Régates Royales in Cannes, Vele d’Epoca di Imperia, Argentario Sailing Week and Les Voiles d’Antibes. It is also a qualifier for the Mare Nostrum Trophy. In the Vintage Gaff, Yacht Club de Monaco’s Kostia Belkin’s Viola finished 2nd after three races. This magnificent 1908 gaff cutter is listed as a Historic Monument in France. The classic yacht elite in the Mediterranean will be out in force again for the 16th Monaco Classic Week-La Belle Classe which runs 13-16 September in Monaco.
