YCM’s young sailors were on the podium at the end of the Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez, a strategic 600-mile offshore challenge in the Mediterranean. On K’Mena the team led by Yacht Club de Monaco member Eric Muller put in a solid performance to win the under-25 youth category and clinch 8th place in the overall team rankings in IRC. This is a demanding race on one of the most beautiful courses in the Mediterranean.
On board, the crew comprised Arthur Piekarec, Paul Papillon, Armand Chevallier and Nicolas Rostagni from YCM’s Sports Section led by owner Éric Muller. The group dynamic is based on commitment, knowledge sharing and experience gained in previous races. At sea this cohesion results in an ability to make quick decisions and fight to stay in contention until the very end.
At this 2026 edition, conditions left nothing to chance with wind, transitions and tactical choices to be made from the start. In this context, the crew on K’Mena remained focused, structuring their race strategy for the long haul. Having already competed in offshore events like the Palermo-Montecarlo, the Club’s young sailors again confirmed their progress and growing strength. They dominated their category and kept up the pace against more experienced crews.
Beyond the group’s result, the race highlighted individual achievement. Aged just 16, Arthur Piekarec was presented with the award for being the youngest crew member in the fleet by Lionel Péan. A distinction that publicly recognises the commitment of a new generation and their growing presence at this type of event. With 35 sailing boats spread across IRC, Class40 and multi-hull categories, the Paprec 600 Saint-Tropez remains a unique event.
This result reflects the progress being made by these young people from Yacht Club de Monaco’s Sports Section, where the focus is on gaining experience and automatic reflexes, and building confidence. What is clear from this performance is that YCM’s young sailors made it onto this podium, and don’t intend to stop there.
