YCM was there on the international stage for French Olympic Week. From 18-25 April 2026, the Bay of Hyères hosted the world’s Olympic sailing elite for the 57th edition of French Olympic Week, the second stage of the World Cup after Palma de Mallorca end of March. Once again, Monegasque sailors were in the running, including Jérémy Moutout in ILCA 7 and Louise Debeaumont in ILCA 6.
In ILCA 6, the week held a special significance for Yacht Club de Monaco sailor, Louise Debeaumont, who was competing in her first World Cup event. It was a major milestone for this young sailor and results aside, the experience was a chance to compete at the highest level and see what she has to do to continue improving.
The bay of Hyères may be a beautiful spot but it’s also tough. Behind the image, conditions are technically challenging with unstable winds, pressure variations and tricky transitions that force sailors to constantly adapt.
French Olympic Week marks a turning point and is a crucial stage in the season. It’s a time for reflection, adjustments and planning for what’s up next on the calendar. For YCM sailors, this week in Hyères is part of this approach to continue accumulating experience and staying in contention at the highest level.
