Swan Sardinia Challenge – The Nations League – Porto Cervo 22-26 June 2021
Saturday 26th June 2021. A transfer of his talent for Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio (G-Spot) who kept raising the bar over the four days of racing. With an already long list of prizes to his name, particularly in the Melges 32, the YCM member bagged his first victory in the Swan 36 group in which he’s been competing for just a few months. With three wins out of seven races, he had plenty of time to put in a good performance at Porto Cervo which enjoyed superb weather conditions. A steady breeze across the course maintained the suspense to the end, with competitors relishing in the battle for first place as evidenced by the three small points separating the top three in the Swan 36 final ranking. In the Swan 50, Leonardo Ferragamo (Cuordileone) fought his way in the top group to finally clinch 3rd place, while in the Swan 45, Valter Pizzoli (Ange Transparent) finished 5th. This second meeting for The Nations League circuit lived up to expectations both in terms of the level and technicalities of the race area. The fleet will be in Spain, in Palma from 31st July to 7th August for the third act.
