A highly motivated group

Optimist – 39^th Meeting Internazionale del Mediterraneo – 8-10 December

Sunday 10^th December 2023. As always there was a great atmosphere in the Yacht Club de Monaco’s Optimist team, out in force at the weekend for the 39^th Meeting Internazionale del Mediterraneo with 12 competing. Nearly a hundred contestants turned out for three days of racing. In the older Minime group, Alexandra Santelli pulled off a very good 16^th place ahead of Frederik Holst 21^st followed by Océane Schroeder 22^nd and Roman Lampert 33^rd.

In the younger Benjamin group, the Monegasques held their own against stiff competition with Joséphine Dobbelaere clinching a superb 4^th place, also winning the girls category. Not far behind was Jules Huon in 7^th who won the event in the category born 2014, with Louis Pompée 9^th and 2^nd in the 2014 group, followed by Victor Holst, 13^th and 3^rd.  Pietro Carlevaris, Louis Faivre, Sacha Mousny and Anastasia Verpeka finished 14^th, 19^th, 27^th and 28^th.
