The Coupe Internationale de Printemps in Martigues is one of the major events of the season for young sailors in the Optimist class. Organised on the Étang de Berre, the event attracted around 300 sailors from all over France to compete in the Benjamins (younger group), Minimes D1 and D2 (older group) categories. After a first day of no racing due to inclement conditions, the pace picked up on Monday with two races completed in each category in a 10-12 knot south/southeasterly. The Tuesday started with the usual distribution of the Lycras before the Minimes D2 and Benjamins battled it out over three races. Despite difficult conditions throughout the regatta, Yacht Club de Monaco sailors held their own with Jules Huon in the Benjamins climbing to a well-earned 14th place in the overall ranking and 8th in the category. Mona Benchekroune, Sacha Mousny and Victor Marquet finished 65th, 75th and 90th. In the Minimes D2, Facundo Rubinelli came 45th and Joséphine Dobbeleare 76th.
