ILCA – European Cup – Malta
19-22 December
The 2024 EurILCA Europa Cup Malta concluded Sunday 22nd December after four intense days of racing organised by the Malta Young Sailors Club. The penultimate event of the season attracted 79 sailors from 18 countries competing in the ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 categories.
Yacht Club de Monaco’s Jérémy Moutout triumphed in the ILCA 7 after winning four of the eight races, a result that reflects his consistency throughout this competition. Thanks to faultless starts and an intuitive understanding of the Maltese race area he is now a serious contender for upcoming international events. Louise Debeaumont in ILCA 6 finished 31st out of 35 after eight races.
A high-level European competition
The EurILCA Europa Cup is a major regatta for sailors on the ILCA circuit. This win means Jérémy Moutout ends 2024 in style and can look forward to an ambitious 2025. As for Louise Debeaumont, she continues to gain experience against a high-level international fleet. The Monegasques will be out racing again at the last event of the year, in Croatia, 28-31 December.
