The European Championship attracted a particularly strong fleet with several world-renowned ILCA sailors attending. In moderate 15-knot conditions, Jérémy quickly demonstrated that he’d made significant progress. Having got his championship off to a great start, he stayed in contact with the leading groups from the first day before making it into the gold group reserved for the 58 best competitors.

Big progress on speed

One of the strong points of this week was his impressive speed on the water. The Monegasque confirmed his ability to keep up the pace against a particularly strong European field. In a class as competitive as it is in ILCA 7, being able to stay in contact in the fast phases is already an indicator of concrete progress towards staying in contention.

Potential to be teased out

The overall assessment remains positive but the work continues. If his best races show real potential, the goal now is to achieve greater consistency over a long run of races. At this level, consistency is essential to stay in the top rankings.
