Three days of racing in the bay off the Monaco Yacht Club in December, on boats provided for the event and which are all identical. Once the crews have got to grips with the boats, they compete in a round-robin format before progressing to the ranked finals. A short and intense format, designed to ensure that each crew sails as much as possible and competes against the entire fleet.
Deux Hansa 303, un AIRA 22 et un Echo 90 spécialement adaptés permettent à chacun de prendre la barre, quel que soit son niveau ou sa situation.
Bateaux identiques, équipages mixtes, mêmes parcours : sur la ligne de départ, seules la conduite et la tactique font la différence.
Trois coachs de la Section Sportive ont suivi une formation spécifique pour encadrer les navigateurs en situation de handicap, aux côtés de jeunes aides moniteurs.
Crews are welcomed at the Yacht Club de Monaco, discover the adapted boats and settle their set-ups ahead of the first start.
The round robin pits every crew against all the others. Races follow one after another in the bay, in full view of the public on the quaysides.
Once qualifying is complete, crews are split into the Gold, Silver, Bronze and Vermeil finals, where the final standings are decided.
The ceremony closes the event at the Yacht Club de Monaco and rewards the winners of each final.

The Navicap Challenge is an inclusive accessible regatta organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco. It enables teams of an able-bodied person and someone with a disability to race together on a specially adapted class of boat.
The event is open to teams of two, one able-bodied, the other with a disability, of all levels. It aims to promote accessibility for everyone.
Les courses se disputent dans la baie de Monaco, face au Yacht Club, sur un plan d’eau offrant des conditions tactiques facilement observables depuis la terre.
The format comprises round robin qualifiers where each crew competes with all the others, followed by ranked finals (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Vermeil). The objectives are to promote sailing as a universal sport, encourage participants to interact and promote inclusion.
The event is part of the Yacht Club de Monaco’s mission to make the sea accessible to everyone. It supports the collective ‘Monaco, Capital of Advanced Yachting’ initiative by putting inclusion, innovation and sustainability at the heart of sailing and motor-boating.
The public are welcome to watch from the quays in Monaco. Results, photos and reports are published on Yacht Club de Monaco channels. Media representatives can request accreditation to cover the event.
For participants, it is an opportunity to experience an international regatta with like-minded people and for abled-bodied and those with a disability to share experiences. For inclusive sailing, it is a model of openness and equal opportunities in action of a sport that is often perceived as being elitist.
