Monaco’s young sailors stand out

A strong turnout gathered for the Coupe Internationale de Printemps Optimist held in Carantec. Nearly 250 young sailors took part in this key event on the Optimist calendar. The Yacht Club de Monaco’s young talents were naturally in attendance, taking on a highly competitive fleet in the Bay of Morlaix.

In varied conditions, the Monaco delegation delivered several encouraging results. In Minimes D1, Pietro Carlevaris achieved the best Monegasque result with a 55th place overall, while Joséphine Dobbelaere finished 82nd.

In Minimes D2, Jules Huon placed 23rd, followed by Sacha Mousny in 36th and Louis Faivre in 40th. Anastasiya Verpeka-Dolling completed the team’s results with a 43rd place finish.

Overall, the Monaco sailors remained fully engaged throughout the competition, showing solid progress and a strong attitude against a particularly competitive fleet. Beyond the rankings, this event remains a valuable benchmark for assessing the overall level, with Monaco’s next generation continuing to gain experience race after race.
