Jules Huon finishes 19th in the bronze group out of 125 contestants

After two days of relentless 18 to 20 knot winds from the south and choppy waters, the wait continued into Monday, the final day of racing. A northerly wind persisted until late morning before easing and giving way to the long-awaited Ora. The Race Committee quickly repositioned the course to start the final races, which were marked by numerous recalls, premature starts and black-flag procedures. Throughout the races, Jules Huon, a young sailor from Yacht Club de Monaco’s Sports Section, kept up a good pace, notably during the qualifying rounds.

No room for error ever at the Ora Cup

Jules Huon finished 19th in the bronze group which numbered 125 contestants out of the 600 Optimist sailors at this Lake Garda race venue, renowned as one of the best in Europe. Faced with a high level of competition and crowded fleets, the young athletes from Monaco had to approach the regatta like a marathon. Big events like this one play a vital role in their development by pitting them against large international fleets and giving them the opportunity to gain valuable experience for the rest of the season.
