Matteo Di Maio finished 7th in Scarlino after four days of racing and 11 races. Aboard Era l’Ora, the Yacht Club de Monaco member therefore secured a top-10 finish in an event that served as the fourth round of the EuroCup, the fifth and final leg of the RS21 Cup and the Italian Championship. Anatoli Karatchinski (Path RS), also a YCM member, finished 23rd out of the 24 contestants.

Matteo Di Maio finishes 7th in Scarlino after 11 races

It was an action-packed programme with 11 races completed to sort the winners out, with gaps widening over the course of four days of racing on the waters off Yacht Club Toscana. For Era l’Ora, the goal was to stay within striking distance of the leading pack.

The crew achieved their goal with enough consistency to put the RS21 in the Top 10 and hold onto it right through to the final overall ranking. Matteo Di Maio finished 7th in Scarlino, while Anatoli Karatchinski wrapped up the event in 23rd place with Path RS.

The event was important as it marked the end of the Italian 2026 RS21 Cup season in the wake of the other stages held in Sferracavallo, Torbole and Malcesine.

Era l’Ora also makes the Italian Championship podium

The 7th place ranking in this event does not tell the whole story of Era l’Ora that week. In the Italian Championship rankings the Monaco boat ranked 3rd behind Les Freaks and Freccia Blu. A podium finish to top off the result Matteo Di Maio achieved in this final stage.

For Matteo Di Maio and Era l’Ora, the week in Tuscany ended with two results: 7th place out of 24 after 11 races, and 3rd place in the Italian Championship.
