YCM sailors shone at the Grandi Regate Internazionali in Sanremo. Organised 21-23 May as part of the CIM Classic Yacht Trophy 2026, this major Mediterranean meeting for classic sailing yachts and tradition attracted a prestigious fleet to the Italian Riviera. Between the racing,  maritime heritage and a culinary competition, the Monegasque crews distinguished themselves both on the water and on the quay.

YCM sailors shine at the Grandi Regate Internazionali in the classic categories

In IOR Classic, Massimiliano Ferruzzi secured 2nd place on Il Moro di Venezia against seven contestants. A solid performance in an always highly competitive category that includes several iconic yachts. Sagittarius came 4th in this category. In the Yacht Classic group, Argynne III, a YCM ambassador alongside Tuiga, came 5th after three days of racing in varied Mediterranean conditions.

A meeting where heritage and competition meet

The Grandi Regate Internazionali has a special place on the classic yacht calendar. Organised with the support of Circolo Velico Capo Verde, the Italian Sailing Federation, the CIM and AIVE, this annual event gathers historic yachts from all over the Mediterranean.

Vela & Sapori, another Sanremo tradition

It is not just about competition on the water, as the event also cultivates a very Italian spirit with its focus on gastronomy, a nod to the Monaco Classic Week programme organised by YCM.  On the Friday, the traditional Vela & Sapori challenge saw the quays buzzing with activity, as crews had to prepare a themed dish which was then judged by a jury. In the combined sailing and cuisine ranking, Argynne III finished 10th while Il Moro di Venezia was in 12th place. In the culinary contest ranking, Argynne III was 7th and Il Moro di Venezia 10th.
