Since it started in 1969, the EDHEC Sailing Cup has gone from strength to strength. An initiative led by three students wanting to democratise sailing, it has established itself as a major event. This 57th edition continued on that path with a high-calibre fleet and an organisation still powered by students involvement.

Supported by the Yacht Club de Monaco, Oscar Roynaud was competing in the J/80 class on Stratenmer.  In a large fleet, they finished 28th out of 44 in the overall ranking, and 21st out of 35 in the students, a ranking that reflects a serious approach to taking on a very competitive environment.

A formative regatta

The EDHEC Sailing Cup is a unique regatta that brings diverse profiles together and demands all bases be covered when it comes to race management, from navigation to strategy and team cohesion. Each race is a learning experience that carries a project forward from start to finish. Sometimes choices are down to small details and often it is consistency that makes the difference. YCM was involved in the 2026 EDHEC Sailing Cup to enable young sailors to experience this level of commitment while sharing the same values.
