SNIM is a major gathering in the south of France for keelboats and attracts top-level teams. Every year during Easter weekend, around a hundred boats race in Marseille’s deepwater bay, the location for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This Grade 3 event counts towards the solo, double-hander and crew IRC Mediterranean Championships. Sponsored by kitefoil world champion Lauriane Nolot, the 2024 edition, open to IRC and one design, lived up to all the promises with south-south-east breezes and over a hundred boats representing five nations on the start.
They included six sailors from Yacht Club de Monaco, the first trip out since the start of the year. Paul Papillon, Jessica Klimek, Vladislav Orlov, Albin Vita and Arthur Piekarec finished 10th in the J/70 class on Libeccio after five races, with another YCM member, Didier Schouten, in 2nd aboard Triskell.
