J/70, a winner in Monaco!

Since 2014, the J/70 has established itself as the YCM’s symbolic one-design class, with a fleet of 20 Monegasque teams. Led by Class President Michel Boussard, some are competing against top international teams, such as Stefano Roberti, European Vice- Champion 2016. It’s true that all the hard work put in at the beginning, in collaboration with the Sports Section, is bearing fruit. Today 30-plus J/70 teams, representing 11 nationalities, participate each month from October to March in the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series which alternates intensive training sessions with high level regattas. Alongside the Melges 20s, more than 60 one-design boats have set up their winter base in the Principality.
