44Cup Nanny Cay
Spectacular end to the season
A thrilling season on the RC44 circuit concluded with the 44Cup Nanny Cay in British Virgin Islands waters. The fifth and final stage lived up to all the promise to give spectators and crews a regatta full of suspense and intense races that went down to the wire. Up to the final day, several crews were in the running for victory, testimony of the on-a-par high level that holds sway in this fleet.
Team Nika crowned 2024 Champion
The highlight of the last race was that Team Nika, skippered by Vladimir Prosikhin from Yacht Club de Monaco clinched an all-important 3rd place to win the 2024 season championship title. The team proved consistent throughout the season with four podiums out of the five events, including a resounding victory at the World Championship in Brunnen.
“Finishing third here in Nanny Cay is the cherry on the cake. This season we have shown that consistency is essential to succeed. It is incredibly satisfying to win another season after our last title in 2015,” said a delighted Vladimir Prosikhin.
Charisma and Artemis Racing in the battle
Another figurehead of Yacht Club de Monaco, Nico Poons’ Charisma, also shone in this final event by securing a superb 2nd place, a result that crowns a solid run of good results that put the team in 4th place overall for 2024.
As for Artemis Racing led by another YCM member, Torbjörn Törnqvist, they too were up there with the best all season to finish 5th overall, having come 7th in the RC44 Cup Nanny Cay.
