TF35 Grand Prix 2021 – Scarlino
9-12 September 2021
The TF35 fleet were together for the first time on the sea for the sixth meeting on this circuit. After five stages on Lake Geneva, the TF35 Trophy teams had a chance to test out their foilers in competition mode on salt water. At Scarlino, the seven new generation foiling catamarans battled it out for four days during which a total of 12 races were completed.
In the hunt for first place, Ernesto Bertarelli (Alinghi) and Esteban Garcia (Realteam Sailing), both Yacht Club de Monaco members, racked up race wins, but in the final analysis it was Esteban Garcia who made it onto the podium’s top step ahead of Ernesto Bertarelli who commented: “Conditions were perfect, the TF35s responded well to the sea and we will be working on some improvements. Congratulations to Realteam who sailed very well and fully deserve this victory!”. The TF35 Trophy circuit combines races on lakes and open water at different sites across Europe.
