Friday 19th June 2020, in the wake of numerous successful ‘virtual’ regattas held over the last few weeks, the Yacht Club de Monaco repeated the format for the first ever E-SailEvening.
Thirty-six members took up the challenge which combined dinner on the Observatory Deck with online races backed by coaching from Sports Section members. Contestants enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Chef Renato Secchi and his team and benefited from top tips during an evening that saw three warm-up races followed by four group qualifiers, each lasting 8-10 minutes run at intervals throughout the evening. It ended with four grand finale races, and victory going to Adrian Budde, naval architect at Espen Oeino International.
