2022 Open Africa-Middle East Championships of Foil Kitesurfing – 26-31 August 2022

 

Wednesday 31st August 2022. It was indisputable. Alexander Ehlen, Yacht Club de Monaco kiteboarder and member of the Monaco Sport Academy, has just clinched 1st place in the Open Africa-Middle East Championships of Foil Kitesurfing. Held in Mauritius, the meeting attracted the cream of kitesurfers. And if the backdrop wasn’t breathtaking enough, the Monegasque’s performance more than matched it of the 18 contestants from 11 countries competing. “We had a fantastic competition and I’m delighted to finish first. I felt that I fought well against the others and intend to come back next year to defend my title,” said Alexander Ehlen. He came to conquer the Chinese Qbin Huang and then also beat the Mauritian Jean de Falbaire on his home turf.
