Finn Gold Cup – Miami | 27-31 janvier 2023

 

Tuesday 31st January 2023. Ed Wright from Yacht Club de Monaco won the Finn Gold Cup in Miami, USA, to become World Champion of this class. His last Gold Cup victory was 12 years ago in San Francisco: “I have often come 2nd or 3rd, so it’s great to win again. It was a fun week and good to be back after several years not sailing. I think the last time I was on a Finn was 2019. The other competitors have definitely upped their level by training hard and some of the young sailors are improving, so let’s see what happens with this class in future.

 

 

 

With winds of only 8-9 knots across the course, contestants had to stay focused and consistent to stay in the game. Ed Wright grasped that mettle winning four of the eight races to claim victory with an 11-point lead.
